Hi, I'm Evan,
the founder @ telora, prev. ml engineer @ sci research institute, author, composer, and a bcbp major @ amherst college.
I like to think about consciousness as a problem of the Ship of Theseus. Imagine every single neuron in your brain has been replaced by artificial ones, one by one or batch by batch, is the new you still you? I can't say for sure. LBCs are racing to solve aging, and one day we may be able to swap out every failing part with an artificial replacement. Yet even if our bodies become fully rebuilt, we, the biological vessels, must remain the masters of our consciousness.
But evolution isn't perfect. We still have so many people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases. Tackling aging in the brain is the most fundamental & complex challenge of biotech. And that is my mission.
Along the way, I've built ml models to improve immunotherapy strategy for hcc & co-developed FetA.I., and what I'm building now is the culmination of everything that I've done.
We can, we will, and we must create a better future.
